About DYP
Who we are
Do Your Part Initiative (DYP) is a youth-driven non-profit organisation based in Malawi, dedicated to empowering communities through volunteerism, social action, and sustainable development. We believe that meaningful change begins when every individual chooses to play their part in addressing societal challenges.
Our history
Do Your Part Initiative was founded by Matthew Bota in 2021.
On his birthday, rather than receiving gifts, Bota asked his friends to make a donation of food and clothing to some of the women and children incarcerated within Mzuzu prison. The aim was to support their rehabilitation, and give them an opportunity to succeed as healthy, contributing members of society.
This act of generosity blossomed, and, as more and more of Matthew's friends became inspired and involved in giving to the community, Do Your Part Initiative was born.
Today Do Your Part Initiative together with its partners are collaborating to identify people most in need, build campaigns, and make an impact. Its programmes have spanned supporting those experiencing hardship, disability or vulnerability across every strata in society.
If you too are motivated to do your part, please contact DYP, and begin your journey in making a difference.
